Amazon Solutions Architect, US Federal Civilian in Arlington, Virginia

Come build what’s next with us! Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing U.S. Federal Civilian Health business.

As a Federal Civilian Health Solutions Architect, you will help US Federal Government Health agencies reach their goals and advance their mission. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by the opportunity to work backwards from our customers' needs and help them innovate and scale on AWS. As an experienced technologist and key member of the Account team you will help influence customers' architectural choices across broad use cases involving security, compute, storage networking as well as advanced scenarios involving serverless, analytics, and AI/ML. You will also lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS Solution Architect community.

Up to 30% travel required.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.

Key job responsibilities

• Helping U.S. Federal Civilian Health organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.

• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects.

• Defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.

• Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.

• Familiar with the FedRAMP Program, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and AWS GovCloud

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

  • Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

  • AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification
