Amazon Senior Program Manager, Inbound Transportation Revenue, Inbound Transportation in Arlington, Virginia

Description

The Inbound Transportation Team is responsible for the transportation of billions of products into and between Amazon fulfillment centers. We work with teams across Amazon to understand the cost structure of their transportation needs and price our transportation services for their vendor and seller partners. This role will be responsible for working with all of our partners and sales channels on driving profitability of our transportation programs and rolling out new pricing programs and models. As the Senior Program Manager for pricing, you will be responsible for the profitability of our inbound transportation programs, by working with our retail and grocery partners to drive the transportation pricing component of annual vendor negotiations. Additionally, you will work with our pricing product manager to build new pricing tools and programs for our partners, and work with geographies and business segments that are new to Amazon Inbound to understand their cost and pricing needs.

This Senior Program Manager will scope and create project plans, develop processes, coordinate and drive execution, and communicate to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead complex cross-functional programs that impact multiple organizations throughout the entire life cycle.

  • Develop the program's strategy, guide teams inside and outside your organization, and ensure successful delivery.

  • Define the program's mission, vision, and objectives, analyze data, and measure progress with metrics.

  • Understand business challenges, automation limits, scaling factors, and reasons behind leadership decisions.

  • Collaborate with various teams to manage and allocate resources effectively.

  • Collaborate with customers, internal/external teams, and engineering to prioritize projects.

  • Bridge gaps between teams, processes, and systems to prevent common failure scenarios.

  • Address ambiguous problems, detect and address risks proactively.

  • Collaborate with managers and executives to drive critical business initiatives.

  • Establish and oversee KPI reporting for multiple programs to track progress and performance.

  • Coordinate with Amazon's global units to enhance outcomes for customers.

  • Create, manage, and communicate project budgets.

About the team

Amazon Inbound Transportation (AIT) is responsible for optimizing cost-effective flow throughout Amazon’s inbound network while providing Amazon with greater control, performance, and inbound visibility. The Business Operations (BizOps) team within AIT is responsible for pricing, cost, growth, speed, and profitability of the inbound business. Our customer is the shipper who utilizes AIT programs (vendors and sellers). Our objective is to execute on time, save shippers money, and offer distinctive features and services to all shippers regardless of size.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • 5+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 2+ years of defining and executing against program timeline & requirements experience

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • 7+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 5+ years of experience in program/project management, with a focus on pricing, transportation, or logistics

  • Experience in data analysis, business intelligence tools, and financial modeling

  • Understanding of transportation pricing models and strategies - Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
