Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a Requirements and Capabilities Special Programs and Growth Senior Manager to coordinate business activities and create new opportunities to drive top line growth for the Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) Advanced Technology (AT) organization. The Senior Manager will lead business creation efforts inside the Advanced Technology, Advanced Integrated Surface Sensors business. In this role, the Senior Manager will be responsible for delivering new business solutions to customers by leveraging Raytheon solutions and capabilities. Specific responsibilities include support of capture teams to include monitoring and reporting on capture status, management of New Business Investment (NBI) resources, conducting market assessments, lead generation and qualification, customer relationship development and management, and execution of capture strategies in support of business growth targets. The Senior Manager will be accountable for relationships and interactions with US Government agencies to develop new business, share information, and to immediately resolve issues as required. As a member of the Requirements and Capabilities team, the Senior Manager works closely with the other Strategic Business Units, Functional Business Areas, Programs and Product Area Directorates, and Requirements & Capabilities Executives. The Senior Manager will ensure collaboration and alignment of all strategies to drive customer satisfaction and will report directly to the Director for Advanced Technology Sensors R&C.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop and execute new business creation strategy to achieve Advanced Technology growth targets

  • Coordinate and execute a prioritized plan of action and milestones that focuses on closing pursuits inside of the current Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and the Long-Range Plan (LRP)

  • Collaborate internally and with our external partners to plan, develop and execute capture strategies for DoD Customer (Service Program Offices, Resource Sponsors, Warfare Centers, DARPA, SCO, ONR, AFRL, ARL) level pursuits

  • Coordinate and manage program associated NBI accounts, capture and proposal gate reviews, new business assessment and pipeline reviews, and customer engagements

  • Lead by example and provide professional and technical expertise to the R&C team, AT Strategic Business Unit, and applicable customers

  • This position requires travel up to 30% Domestic

This position is a hybrid role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in government, defense, or aerospace or an advanced degree and a minimum of 7 years experience

  • Prior experience in requirements generation, resource sponsors, and/or program management experience

  • 7+ years experience in Government, Defense and/or industry with an established network across the government to include DoD Service Program Offices, Science & Technology (S&T) Labs and connections to broader service needs

  • Experience presenting and communicating with customers and senior leadership

  • Experience managing programs or leading teams encompassing surface warfare and associated sensors, effectors and combat systems

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date Active clearance is required prior to start date

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field

  • Certified Program Manager (or Defense Acquisition University Level III equivalent)

  • Ability to be creative, innovative, take initiative, and act with speed and agility

  • Expertise with business creation process, NBI funding process and international strategic assessment

  • Demonstrated experience in developing strong customer relationships

  • Familiarity with highly sensitive technology domain operations and platforms

  • Understanding of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations

  • Previous business development experience with industry

  • Domain expertise in sensing and associated military operations across Services and the IC

  • Certified Capture Manager (or equivalent)

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence in a cross functional, matrixed team environment

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
