Amazon Manager, Law Enforcement, Kuiper, Global Service Compliance in Arlington, Virginia

Description

We are seeking a stellar law enforcement response team manager to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

Working closely with Legal, you will develop out-of-this-world strategies for handling compliance obligations in creative, business-centric ways that allow Kuiper to move quickly. As the manager of law enforcement response for Kuiper GSC, you will lead a team of individuals that will interact as a primary point of contact for law enforcement and other communications authorities. You will foster deep subject matter expertise in communications law enforcement regulations for your team and drive a high sense of urgency to optimize mechanisms necessary to meet global communications service provider compliance obligations. You will maintain an up-to-date view of Kuiper’s communications service provider law enforcement obligations, the Kuiper business, and the relevant communication and law enforcement authority regimes in terms of new obligations or considerations that impact Kuiper’s compliance. You will own prescribed key performance indicators for law enforcement response and ensure early escalation and visibility for immediate problem solving across your program.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience leading law enforcement response at a communications provider

  • 5+ years’ experience interfacing with law enforcement agencies and/or communications authorities

  • 3+ years’ experience of accountability for KPIs of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in operationalizing or assessing regulatory compliance obligations

  • Familiarity with the global telecommunications regulatory landscape

  • Addresses issues head-on prioritizing urgent and important matters for top level leadership visibility and escalation

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Candidates fluent in additional (non-English) languages highly preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
