The Boeing Company’s Boeing Enterprise Security (BES) organization is currently seeking a Data Security Senior Manager to oversee all aspects of our data protection program with specific focus on addressing risk to Export Controlled information in either Arlington, VA; Chicago, IL; Englewood, CO; Hazelwood, MO; Huntington Beach, CA; Huntsville, AL; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; Plano, TX; Ridley Park, PA; Seattle, WA; or Titusville, FL.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective data security strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the adequate protection of data throughout Boeing’s Information Technology (IT) ecosystem. The candidate will partner with Global Trade Controls and various IT teams to proactively address risk to Export Controlled information in a global IT environment (cloud and on-prem). They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the deployment and maintenance of effective data security solutions and will stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies and work closely with vendors to ensure they are delivering on their service level agreements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data security, excellent technical skills, a solid track record of successfully managing complex security projects with direct regulatory compliance impacts, and a proven ability to lead and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Partner with Global Trade Controls to implement data security solutions to appropriately comply with regulatory obligations and effectively protect Export Controlled information
Develop and implement effective data security strategies, policies, and procedures to detect and prevent security threats and compliance risks across various global IT environments (cloud and on-prem)
Oversee the management and maintenance of data security solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security, integrity, and maintenance of effective data security measures
Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging threats and technologies in data security
Lead and manage complex data security projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget
Meet or exceed service management targets for availability and performance of the services contained within your portfolio
Work with vendors to ensure security solutions are up to date and delivering against their Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security policies and global regulatory compliance obligations
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Provide leadership and strategic direction to a team of data security professionals
Inspire and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals
This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience working with risk management, regulatory and compliance topics
5+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions (e.g. client/server, storage, network, cloud, information security concepts, etc.)
5+ years of experience performing implementation, administration and support of Data Loss Prevention technologies which includes configuring policies, patching, upgrading & tuning
5+ years of experience in a managerial role
Experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
Experience in data security concepts, technologies, and industry standards
Experience identifying complex issues, analyzing data, and implementing innovative solutions that improved operational efficiency

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $162,350 – $251,850
