Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer in Arlington, Texas
Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Program Production Engineering team. IAMD is a collection of programs with a similar mission, to defend against airborne threats. Each program accomplishes this mission in different ways against different specific threats. IAMD includes established production and sustainment programs as well as emerging development programs proving out new technologies. All positions require frequent communication and collaboration with people located across the United States including other Manufacturing Engineers as well as other functions including Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts and Program Management to name a few. It can also involve working directly with our government customers, Design for Manufacture input, transition new or revised designs from development to production, proposal estimating, leading manufacturing process validation activities, driving cost reduction initiatives, identifying risks to production and implementing mitigation plans, Lockheed Martin and supplier factory manufacturing support, earned value management and any other program related manufacturing or tooling issues that may arise.
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Ability to build positive relationships with customers
Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations
Experience in process verification or validation efforts
Bachelors or higher degree in an engineering discipline
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers and program personnel on manufacturing related issues
Experience manufacturing machined parts, electro-mechanical assemblies and/or wire harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620
Proficient to advanced 3D modeling skills with Creo 4
