Texas Health Resources Assistant General Counsel in Arlington, Texas

Assistant General Counsel

Work Location : Arlington, TX-Hybrid work location with some work from home. Main office is in the Corporate office in Arlington, TX

Texas Health Resources has an Assistant General Counsel position available in the Legal Department. Eligible candidates must have a Juris Doctorate degree, be admitted to the State Bar of Texas, have a minimum of 7 years legal experience and 5 years relevant health law experience.

The primary focus of work experience in the hospital/health care industry should include hospital operations and medical staff relations. HIPAA/information privacy and security experience is a plus. The incumbent will provide legal services to Texas Health Resources hospitals and corporate departments.

Job Duties

Represents and advises in all legal matters for THR hospitals, THPG, or other THR System Services departments. Handles a wide range of legal responsibilities as assigned. Assists with interpretation and application of State and Federal rules.

Participate as a member and/or attend various committees and/or meetings.

Education

Bachelor's Degree required and J.D. required

Experience

7 years legal experience required

5 years Healthcare Law required

The primary focus of work experience in the hospital/health care industry should include hospital operations and medical staff relations. HIPAA/information privacy and security experience is a plus. Representation of physician groups is a plus. Medical malpractice experience is not relevant to this position

Licenses and Certifications

JD - Juris Doctor by State Bar of Texas required upon hire

Skills

Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and speaking skills, ability to relate to all levels of personnel within THR as well as medical staff members.
