Position Description
Primary Purpose:
Effectively maintain equipment to support the operation of a liquid bulk terminal.
Responsibilities:
Directly supervise unionized mechanics and assign daily tasks
Assist with KMOC (One Calls)
Directly support operations and oversee repair and maintenance of various equipment including but not limited to: Vapor Emissions Control Systems, Boilers, Heaters, Compressors, Mobile Equipment, Cranes, Pumps, Motors, and Process Equipment
Promote safe work practices to direct reports and contractors and ensure all tasks are performed safely
Keep up-to-date documentation files for such items as P&IDs /other drawings, manuals, and procedures of all systems and equipment for areas of responsibility
Manage repair and maintain records in Maximo system
Manage direct reports’ attendance, overtime, vacation, timesheets, work assignments
Coordinate all activities with Maintenance Department management, Operations, EH&S and all other affected parties
Provide back-up to other Maintenance Management
Financial oversight of all areas of responsibility
Purchase tools and equipment necessary for all areas of responsibility
Attend all required training
Lead daily pre-shift meeting
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Education Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology or commensurate education and experience
Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience in industrial facility (petroleum industry experience is preferred but will also consider process industries) in maintenance supervisory, project management, engineering positions. Management experience in unionized facility preferred.
Minimum 10 years overall relevant technical experience
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
Technical training and hands-on experience with emissions control systems, boilers, and other equipment
Satisfactory completion of a mandatory drug screen and background check upon job offer
Other related duties as assigned
Preferred:
Experience using CMMS systems (Maximo)
Strong computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:• Experience operations bulk storage, conveying and processing equipment• Experience operating mobile equipment including skid loaders, forklifts, heavy haul mobile equipment• Able to withstand extreme weather conditions; majority of the time will be working outside• Able to work from written and verbal instructions• Able to work as a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, follow work rules, and take on other duties as assigned• Have the willingness and ability to cross train into other areas of the terminal, example: Operate the grain leg, operate a front end loader safely and efficiently (loading trucks and pushing product), operate a forklift; learn other process in the terminal, examples: cement terminal and vermiculite processing terminal• Able to take initiative and work with co-workers to accomplish defined goals in a fast paced environment• Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance• Positively interact with customers and respond to customer inquiries• Assess own strengths and weaknesses• Pursue training and development opportunities• Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills• Share expertise with others• Comply with the Dual Verification policy and procedure• Comply with the Kinder Morgan SQE culture (Safety-Quality-Environment)• Comply with the Kinder Morgan 6 Core Principles "Do The Right Thing Every Day"• Mandatory drug screen and background check upon hire
Physical Requirements:• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, cold, heat, rain, etc.• Ability to walk up ladders, walk on barges and rail cars• Ability e hand tools while working on above ground while wearing personal fall protection• Ability to adapt to fluctuating hours of operation depending on the customer demand. Workload is dependent upon the seasonal applications• Ability to lift as much as 50 lbs. as high as waist level• Ability to climb ladders and 150 feet of stairs throughout the day• Ability to work around water• Ability to work at heights• Ability to wear a full face respirator and to be fit tested• Ability work in cement and fertilizer dust with appropriate PPE• Ability to work inside a cement product barge• Ability to work in confined space; dusty and dirty environmentCompensation:$87,700 - $127,200Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.Benefits:
