Shoffner Acquisition Corp Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic in Arden, North Carolina

Our Journey Sheetmetal Mechanics are skilled professionals that can install duct work, measure, lay out fittings, and other related materials in new or existing commercial construction jobs. Sheetmetal pros work with helpers and apprentices with minimal direct supervision, as they install various HVAC and ventilation-related components during commercial construction projects. At ShoffnerKalthoff, skilled Journeyperson can grow as far as their talents will take them. You could pursue your craft as individuals, but we promote from within.     Your Tasks:

  • To work safely no matter what. Safety is our #1 priority.

  • Understand blueprints and drawings.

  • Lay out and install commercial duct work in a wide variety of job settings.

  • Unload, move, and handle commercial-scale duct work.

  • Properly finish and seal duct work to pass testing.

  • Help train apprentices.

  • Work at heights, from ladders, lifts, or roof.

  • Assist with installing commercial HVAC equipment.

    Experience:

  • 4+ years of Sheet Metal installation experience.

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.

    You need to be able to;

  • Keep it a Drug-free Workplace.

  • Be punctual and reliable.

  • Work as a team.

  • Work in extremes of heat, cold, bad weather, indoors and outdoors.

  • Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry max of 60 lbs.

  • Willing to be cross trained in different trades.

  • Work well in confined spaces.

  • Work above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.

  • Exercise motor control, with good vision and excellent hand-eye coordination.
