Apprenticeship is the challenging yet rewarding process of learning and on-the job applications that produces our Company's skilled, qualified Journeyman Plumbers. During the 4-year Plumber Apprenticeship, you will learn and perform, under the supervision of foremen, many new skills.

Apprentices have all the benefits of a full-time employee, so you earn a full-time paycheck with benefits while learning your trade. You will put in extra hours in the classroom and studying at home during the 4-year apprenticeship program. There are skills and knowledge testing throughout, assessing your growth in your trade. All the costs of your schooling and classes are fully paid by the Company!

    PLUMBING APPRENTICE JOB DESCRIPTION

  • During your Apprenticeship you will, under skilled supervision, learn how to:

  • Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, fixtures and install domestic water, hot and cold water piping systems, air lines and process piping, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, and brazing.

  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines suet as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.

  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.

  • Read building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs.

  • Use measuring instruments such as rulers and levels to locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures.

  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, for fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools.

  • Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.

  • Install hangers from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.

  • Repair plumbing, replacing or mending broken pipes.

  • Install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Consistent punctuality / reliability are the most important skill you MUST bring to this job!

  • RELIABLE transportation to get you to your job site each morning is a MUST!

  • High School Diploma or certificate of High School equivalency required!

  • You must be able to:

  • Work as a part of a team, under close supervision

  • Function capably in extremes of heat, cold and inclement weather, indoors and out-of-doors

  • Climb and work at heights, to stand and walk throughout the work day, to reach outward constantly, and to often lift/carry up to 60 lbs

  • Work efficiently in small, often confined spaces

  • Work reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending

  • Exercise fine motor control, with excellent hand-eye coordination

  • Consistently operate within Company Values and standards

  • Perform basic mathematics accurately and thoroughly
