About the role: The Clinical Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing back-end application support for the Boston Scientific Cardiac Diagnostics (CDx) business and clinical applications as well as deploying product releases and handling escalated OS support for desktops and servers. Due to the nature of the work, the successful engineer is required to have strong SQL scripting and technical troubleshooting skills. Your responsibilities will include: Strong knowledge of SQL scripting, including the ability to troubleshoot scripting errors Provide tier 2 support of the CDx business and clinical application software Investigate, troubleshoot, and document complex application issues and submit ADO defects when necessary Perform corrective action for system-generated alerts and notifications Perform proactive operations tasks to maintain application and database health and uptime Install software and deploy releases of application software Provide additional support for standard desktop applications Document troubleshooting procedures and issue resolution Maintain current knowledge of CDx applications and support procedures Monitor the Application Support ticket queue Update assigned tickets in a timely manner according to our SLA Will be a part of the after-hours "on-call" rotation Work non-standard hours as necessary to properly support critical application environment Other duties as assigned Occasional travel may be required to other CDx office locations What we're' looking for: Required qualifications: University undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience Strong SQL scripting skills Experience developing Microsoft PowerShell scripts Windows administration experience Experiencing deploying, supporting, and operating enterprise software applications Administration experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or greater A well-developed ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex system issues Understanding and experience with web applications running on Windows Server operating systems (IIS) Strong knowledge of network connectivity and communication protocols including IP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP(s), FTP(s) Possess a client-oriented work ethic Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires proactively defining and managing various tasks and priorities concurrently Must be able to provide support for production systems, respond to emergencies in a timely manner, and provide management with status as appropriate Must be team-oriented with strong and effective communication skills Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft .NET development technologies Understanding of batch scripting Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience Requisition ID:577058 Among other requirements, Boston Scientific maintains specific prohibited substancetesting requirements for safety-sensitive positions.This role is deemed safety-sensitive and, as such, candidates will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement.The goal of the drug testing is to increase workplace safety in compliance with the applicable law.
