This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 440 E Huntington Dr, Arcadia, CA.

We offer 3 weeks of paid on-the job training. The hours during training will be aligned with your schedule.

If you are located within a commutable distance of Arcadia, CA, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the intake of members or the admission / discharge information post notification

  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and / or providers

  • Manage the referral process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles

  • Provide appropriate triage and care coordination notification cases for non - clinical assessment / intervention

  • Handle resolution / inquiries from members and / or providers

This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Must be 18 years of age OR older

  • 1+ years of Utilization Management experience

  • 1+ years of customer service experience with analyzing and solving customer problems

  • Ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to type and talk at the same time and navigate through multiple screens

  • Ability to work any shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with working within the health care industry and with health care insurance

  • A clerical OR administrative support background

  • Knowledge of ICD - 9 and CPT codes

  • Experience in working with Medicare and / OR Medicaid Services

  • Call center experience

  • Experience with working in a metric - driven work environment

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within a commutable distance of Arcadia, CA

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

California Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.00 - $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
