Mayer Brothers Apple Products, Inc. is seeking a second shift lead for their production facility. These positions coordinate activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials.
Responsibilities include:
-Studies production orders to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers, and packaging
-Ensure compliance with HACCP and SQF2000 including food safety and quality prerequisite programs
-Inspect raw materials prior to packaging; observe packaging operations and inspect finished products
-Start, adjust, and repair packaging machinery or notify maintenance of problems
-Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements
-Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
-Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
-Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
-Analyzes and resolves work problems or assist workers in solving problems
-Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
-Maintains time and production records
Qualifications:
-Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 1-2 years manufacturing supervisor experience; food/beverage industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Ability to prioritize and plan work activities
-Ability to meet productivity standards and identify areas to increase productivity
-Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
-Mechanically inclined
-Interpersonal skills required
-Effective oral communication skills including effective listening skills
-Leadership abilities to inspire and motivate others
-Ability to manage people and develop subordinates
