Who will you be working with?

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Engineer, experienced in supporting program management to join our Application Excellence Business Units solutions, with teams based across Americas, Europe and Asia. This is a hybrid role based in Mexico.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the AppX BU Solutions team, you’ll collaborate, support the execution and co-lead initiatives to ensure that IT are completed on time, within scope and budget. This role will focus on driving initiatives success through strategic planning, clear communication, and problem-solving, as well as working on a DevOps environment to sustain the new initiatives going live.

This person will be the primary point of contact between multidisciplinary global teams, stakeholders, and suppliers, fostering collaboration and efficiency in a dynamic and complex environment.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrate basic to medium-level knowledge of database management and programming concepts, such as SQL, Python, JavaScript, and Angular.

  • Utilize data analysis and reporting skills to track project metrics and make data-driven decisions.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of full-stack applications, leveraging technologies like Angular and Node.js.

  • Operations and Product Support:

  • Provide support and troubleshooting for the Mexico Operations, leveraging your experience in operations and product support.

  • Assist with the resolution of issues and the implementation of solutions to ensure the smooth functioning of the IT systems.

  • Project Management:

  • Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of small to medium-sized IT projects from start to finish.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets using project management tools and techniques.

  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and communicate status updates to stakeholders effectively.

  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including stand-ups, retrospectives, and client meetings, demonstrating strong English language communication skills.

  • Co-lead the execution of medium to large-scale programs that span across the organization.

  • Develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments.

  • Identify and manage program-level risks and issues, ensuring mitigation plans are in place.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the program team.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.

  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the flawless execution of IT projects.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior IT project team members.

  • Compliance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations.

  • Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, review and update project plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues and risks.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of full-stack applications, analyze and resolve technical issues reported by the Mexico Operations team.

  • Attend program-level meetings, identify and mitigate program-level risks, and provide updates to stakeholders, as well as manage budget and delivrables of the project

  • Mentor junior team members such as interns, share expertise through team-wide training sessions, and collaborate with the training team.

  • Review project metrics, contribute to the development of new policies and procedures, and ensure adherence to company standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Full-Stack Developer.

  • 3+ years of experience in IT project management, including planning, execution, and delivery of small to medium-sized projects.

  • 2+ years of experience in co-leading the execution of medium to large-scale programs across the organization.

  • Demonstrated experience in operations and product support, with a strong understanding of the Mexico Operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in full-stack development, including experience with Angular, Node.js, and other modern web technologies.

  • Solid understanding of database management and programming concepts, such as SQL, Python, and JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with project management tools and techniques, including the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Experience in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to track project metrics and make data-driven decisions.

Soft Skills:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

· Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.

· Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

· Commitment to continuous improvement and a high-performance culture.

· Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

PREFERRED

· Experience with Office 365 and related productivity tools.

· Familiarity with DevOps practices.

· Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
