Senior Project Manager
As Senior Project Manager, you will act as liaison between the client and 3rd party suppliers. You will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of mechanical and utilities projects of moderate to advanced complexity, value between $10,000 and $5,000,000. Key project delivery focus areas include safety stewardship, scope, budget, schedule, and quality & risk management.
Under minimal supervision, acts as client representative for all aspects of assigned engineering and construction projects and responsible for delivery of those projects to the customer. This position will focus on mechanical and utilities projects applied to industrial facility systems – chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, steam, and system control schemes. Must work as a liaison between customer’s departments and 3rd party suppliers to ensure the incorporation and communication of all aspects affecting the successful delivery of the project.
Projects will vary in size and scope and therefore the Project Manager is expected to develop and deliver a variety of projects at any one time. This position represents the client’s best interest at all times, therefore a good understanding of the client’s business issues is required. These issues include industrial environments, validation, commissioning, and safety. Works with our customers to develop and deliver a project which best suits their needs, with an emphasis on timely project delivery. Typically manages projects of moderate to advanced complexity, risk and exposure between $10,000 and $5,000,000 in total cost to the client.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and generate project opportunities from within a set portfolio of maintenance contracts.
Liaise with key stakeholders on their requirements and explain feasibility of their schemes to become a trusted advisor.
Work with developers, designers and sub-contractors to define and document scope(s) of work(s).
Develop and understand the full scope of works in line with the desired project business case and in turn outcome. This is to be within agreed budget requirements and required profit margins.
Manage, run and draw up tenders on behalf of the customer as required. Carry out full tender
analysis of all sub-contractor returns.
Identify, reduce and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project they are leading.
Ensure the customers QHSE practices and processes are fully embedded in each project.
Ensure full compliance with project management policies and procedures.
Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) “end to end”. Activities to include but not be limited to estimating, business development, quantity surveying, sub-contractor management and site manager duties.
Work closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s).
Ensure customer acceptance is adhered to, in writing and in line with the project plans.
Mutually agree payment schedules and applications for payment to the benefit of the project and the business.
Ensures project documents are complete, current and appropriately stored.
Provide timely monthly reports to the Project Development Manager in an agreed format.
Requirements
Civil Engineer (architect) or Industrial Engineer
Minimum 5 years’ experience of successfully delivering projects in a technical, FM, construction or critical environment
Recognised qualification in Project Management
Fluent in Dutch, French and English (orally and written)
Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
Experience and skills in understanding, developing and maintaining client relationships
Analytically minded with strong financial and numerical skills
Strong presentation skills and proven ability to secure new business
Ability to deliver to deadlines
Proficient in common application software (Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Experience in oil and gas or similar industry with intensive safety programs is considered a plus
