Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is in search of a Postdoctoral Scientist who exhibits exceptional work behaviors to join our renowned team of researchers in Beerse, Belgium.

Responsibilities:

Conduct advanced research on the biological functions of extracellular vesicles in the context of Parkinson's disease and related disorders.

Design and perform experiments to isolate, characterized, and analyze extracellular vesicles from various biological samples.

Apply molecular and cellular biology techniques to study the impact of extracellular vesicles on cells and the pathological processes of Parkinson's disease.

Develop and validate methods for using extracellular vesicles as potential biomarkers for early diagnosis and progression monitoring of Parkinson's disease and related disorders.

Collaborate closely with researchers from the partner university to integrate findings and advance the project goals.

Analyze and summarize data, preparing detailed reports, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for scientific conferences.

Stay updated with the latest literature and advancements in the field of extracellular vesicles and neurodegenerative diseases.

Qualifications

Requirements:

PhD in Neuroscience, Molcular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong background in neurodegeneration research and familiarity with Parkinson's disease.

Proficiency in molecular and cellular biology techniques, including protein purification and characterization.

Experience with advanced microscopy techniques, such as immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy.

Proven ability to independently design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and draw conclusions.

Outstanding analytical skills and experience with data analysis software.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred qualifications:

Proven experience in extracellular veiscle research, including isolation and characterization techniques.

Experience with omics technology (e.g., proteomics, transcriptomics) and bioinformatics analysis.

Knowledge of biomarker discovery and validation processes.

FELASA B or C accredited (or equivalent) for conducting or leading laboratory animal experiments.
