QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology from an accredited college or university.
One (1) year of experience instructing children and adults in life skills topics. Examples of successful experiences are as follows: Instructing children, teens, and parents in developing appropriate expectations of each other, relationships, and appropriate interactions in an educational setting.
One (1) year of experience working with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence (spouse & child) and child neglect.
At a minimum: One (1) year experience working with individuals that may be reluctant to participate in a self-improvement program (examples: alcoholics, prisoners, welfare recipients in a mandated job-finding class).
Fluency in English (speaking, reading and writing). Exhibit the ability to communicate in the English language with references or education. An example of education is instruction that is completed that was delivered in English.
Experience utilizing computer programs necessary for accomplishment of duties (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and email). One (1) year of experience using these programs in the development and delivery of classes in a military or office setting, such as Army Community Service.
Knowledge of the military system and military family lifestyle.
Knowledge of the Army Family support system and Army Community Service and its programs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Conduct FAP briefings and classes on a pre-scheduled, monthly basis on the following topics (program curricula are provided):
Family Advocacy Program Overview Briefing
Family Advocacy Program Unit Troop Briefing to inform Soldiers on how to identify and report child abuse and domestic violence, and a discussion of resources available on and off the installation.
Suspected Child Abuse Identification and Reporting and Positive Guidance targeted for child care providers and individuals working with children in the USAG Ansbach community.
Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth (PSB CY) provided to Child and Youth Services (CYS) and Department of Defense Education Activity staff.
Life Skills classes aimed at individual and family resilience to encourage healthy coping skills to prevent domestic abuse. Examples of life skills classes include stress, anger, management, emotional resilience, etc.
Couples Communication providing an overview of communication, its various methods, and how to improve your intimate relationship through effective communication.
Parenting Education promoting parenting enrichment techniques to promote positive parenting and reduce harmful behaviors. Examples of parenting classes are positive guidance, parenting teens, co-parenting, etc.
Community Outreach, a 2-4 hour session which is inclusive of Armed Forces Network Radio spots, Community Expos, manning information and outreach tables, partnering with other agencies, and attending community events as a FAP representative. Outreach can be conducted at any high-traffic location where an influx of Soldiers and their Family members are expected to attend (eg. Post Exchange, Mail Room, Dining Facility, Fitness Center, Community events, and activities). Attendance at community events will be on-demand as events are scheduled by other agencies. The Contractor will engage community members to provide information on available FAP resources and sign-up participants in services as requested. The Contractor shall assist in planning and coordination for FAP events and outreach.
New classes: Should the need arise for any new classes within the scope of this contract, the Government will provide the Contractor with materials for the development of new classes and briefings.
Data entry: Class and client tracking information shall be entered in the Client Tracking System no later than three (3) work) days of the training/briefing.
Coordinate with the FAP Manager conducted quarterly to suggest improvements and changes to class content, including slides, handouts, and presentation materials.
Utilize the Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) website to measure the customer satisfaction rate for all FAP briefings and classes required in paragraph 5.2.2.1.
Work hours are daily weekdays and occasionally before and after hours, and on Saturdays, to conduct FAP briefings, classes, and services by request, or deskside on demand.
Update and/or create curriculum and training aids as necessary.
Compile monthly training statistics within the USAG Ansbach community.
DOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support Status
This position is not eligible for support under NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) supplemental agreement articles 72 or 73.
