* SIGN BONUS ELIGIBLE FOR EXTERNAL CANDIDATES* Riverway Clinics has an exciting opportunity for a Radiology Technologist or X-Ray Operator to join our team in the Radiology department at our Anoka location. RIVERWAY CLINIC JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist or X-Ray Operator DEPARTMENT: Radiology REPORTS TO: Nursing Supervisor DIRECTION OF OTHERS: None POSITION PURPOSE: Performs all duties necessary in the positioning and radiating of patients, image processing, quality control and patient education regarding exposure. All duties normally performed by x-ray receptionist when available. Excellence is to be centered on patient care and patient relationships and is the responsibility of all employees. Radiology Technologist: QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Currently registered A.R.R.T in Minnesota. Member of M.S.R.T (Minnesota Society of Radiologic Technologists) or A.S.R.T (American Society of Radiologic Technologists). PREFERRED: Previous work experience OR X-Ray Operator: Education/Experience: Graduate of a certified X-Ray Technician Program Passed all areas of the Minnesota State Limited Scope X-Ray Operator Registration: Core Exam, Chest Module, Extremity Module, Extremity Module, Podiatry Module, Spine Module and Skull/Sinus Module PREFERRED: Previous work experience POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: People: Teamwork Handles patient's questions, concern regarding procedures. Participates actively in self-development and educational activities. Identifies and works to resolve problems with other departments and individuals in a constructive manner. Focuses on solving the problem, not blaming. Effectively shares job knowledge with new employees. Places team goals above own interests. Health: Data and Quality Performs high quality images with minimum errors. Provides proper radiation protection and quality care to patients, employees and self by selecting proper technical factors and operating equipment in a safe effective manner while ensuring established protocol for quality control is followed. Confirms patient information (proper patient identification and correct exam ordered on patient) on control sheet/exam request. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy. Performs exams according to radiology protocols and uses independent judgment as needed when necessary to depart from established techniques. If there is a department receptionist, performs those duties during the receptionist absence. Follows strict OSHA standard. Maintains equipment. Complies with Code of Conduct. Identifies and responds to issues of confidentiality, performs within legal and ethical boundaries. Experience: Patient Service Answers incoming calls and respond appropriately. Greets patients warmly. Recognizes and responds to written, verbal and nonverbal communications in an appropriate and timely manner. Greets patients with a warm welcome and completes interactions with a warm closure. Patient Advocacy: Assures patient's rights to privacy, safety and confidentiality. Respects, embraces and values diversity. Stewardship: Financial Maintains a well-stocked and esthetic exam room to ensure and organized, safe and professional environment. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Greet patients with a warm welcome and completes interactions with a warm closure. Patient Advocacy: Assure patient's rights to privacy, safety and confidentiality. Respect, embrace and value diversity. Project a professional image through appearance, positive attitude and constructive interactions. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion, which includes handling and lifting patients, stooping or stretching, hand-eye coordination and manual and finger dexterity. Requires walking and standing for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires normal vision and hearing range, and the absence of color blindness.
