This posting will be used to fill a permanent, full-time (80 hours), Direct Care position within DHS Community Based Services sites within Brooklyn Park and Richfield, MN.
Minnesota State Operated Community Services (MSOCS) is seeking a dedicated human services professional to supervise and lead direct care staff employed in two (2) residential homes that support individuals with a mental health diagnosis and/or cognitive and intellectual disabilities and related conditions. The GSA will supervise all staff and will be responsible for hiring, performance evaluations, assignment of work duties and scheduling, investigations, including disposition of disciplinary actions and all other performance related duties at the sites. This position may also be assigned to manage programmatic functions and/or other duties, as needed, to ensure licensing compliance both for the physical plant and 245.D licensing requirements.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Supervise, monitor and engage staff so that employees effectively perform assigned job duties and achieve the objectives of the program/unit/section/division.
• Provide direct care services to MSOCS residential individuals to ensure that the residential program is in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Work in collaboration with the Designated Manager to ensure development, implementation, monitoring and modification of individualized programs are appropriate to effectively integrate individuals into the community.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the local community.

Minimum Qualifications
• 1 year supervisory experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment;
OR
• 2 years lead work or experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs.
AND
Must meet the qualifications to be a Designated Coordinator:
• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to human services, and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR
• Associate’s degree in a field related to human services, and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR
• A diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; OR
• A minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities; and four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications in one of the categories above.
Candidates must also minimally meet these required qualifications:
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must be 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory-level experience in a program providing direct support services or vocational services to individuals with disabilities or who are at least 65 years old.
Multi-site supervisory/management experience.
Understanding of behavior analysis.
Experience:
Leading trainings on topics related to care for adults with disabilities.
Working with individuals with active symptoms of a psychiatric diagnosis.
Working with individuals with higher-level behavioral issues.
