Reference #: 4742013 THE POSITION The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is looking for a dedicated individual to manage the plumbing and water utility infrastructure at Fort Indiantown Gap.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position plans, supervises, participates in skilled renovations, installation and maintenance work in the Division of Installation Maintenance relative to the plumbing and water utility infrastructure at Fort Indiantown Gap. This position also has managerial responsibility for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsible for the supervision of the Plumbers and the Wastewater Treatment Staff. Plan, assign, schedule repairs to ensure buildings are ready to use. Perform inspections to identify deficiencies and necessary preventative maintenance measures related to the plumbing trade. Layout work and supervise in the repair / construction of interior and exterior plumbing tasks ranging from minor repair up to and including new construction. Oversee the installation, alteration and repair of underground water distribution systems that includes potable water delivery from main pits to the actual source using mains and laterals. Oversee the installation, alteration, and repair of post wide wastewater collection system that includes sanitary lines, lift stations, septic systems, sand mound systems, oil/water separators, grease traps, and pressurized sewer lines.
Perform duties such as planning, assigning and evaluating work, determine priorities, estimate work requirements, order materials, maintain records of work performed and materials used. Work with other foreman and supervisors to ensure projects are carried out. Evaluate employee performance, approve / disapprove leave requests, initiate disciplinary actions, determine training needs, coaching and counsel employees and resolve problems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 7.5 hours/day; 37.5 hours/week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of skilled trades work experience in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facilities which includes one year of supervisory experience overseeing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings, or utility plant operations. Special Requirements: This position require possession of an active motor vehicle license. Post-Employment Requirement:
Possession of a PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) water systems certification (minimum Class E / Subclass 1) within 1 year of employment. Additional Requirements:
You must have experience in locating, troubleshooting, excavating, repairing and sanitizing water mains due to main breaks You must have experience following American Water Works Association rules and DEP regulations when making water main repairs You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualification (not required): Possession of a PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) water systems certificate (minimum Class E/Subclass 1) Supervisory experience in the trades fields Experience creating estimates, ordering materials, or laying out projects Experience reading and interpreting blue prints, echnical, or rough sketches Experience utilizing a computer and other office equipment Experience in underground waterline repair Experience working with or around underground wastewater systems or wastewater treatment plants Experience repairing plumbing systems Experience installing plumbing in new construction projects How to Apply:
