Thomson Reuters Holdings Inc Tax Analyst in Ann Arbor, Michigan
Summary: You will participate in the design, development, and testing of our GoSystem Tax using in-house development tools. In this role, you will collect, analyze, and prioritize requirements from various entities including external taxing authorities and our internal sources to define and make required changes to the GoSystem software. It will require working closely with internal teams. This position requires a forward-thinking attitude to implement tax law changes in advance of a typical tax filing season. Depending on the nature of the project undertakes a combination of technical implementation and testing analyst tasks to understand customer and/or product needs in the context of internal & external requirements and/or software development information. As a Tax Analyst, you will be working on low to medium-level federal or state projects.
About the Role Develop and maintain an understanding of the following:
Complex tax concepts
GoSystem products
GoSystem development platforms
PC operating systems and user interface guidelines
Define complex projects including but not limited to:
State & Federal projects
Writing applicable online help
Coordinate work with other departments
Ensure and implement consistency standards
Assist in the design and development of new projects outside the core application
Ensure quality products by providing the following:
Test programs for technical accuracy and cosmetic appearance
Develop and maintain testing documentation books
Create program change requests, update control sheets, and resolve issues with Systems Engineers
Review and correct projects to ensure they are accurate, clear, and concise
Suggest and implement product enhancements
Provide technical assistance and client support including but not limited to:
Answering technical questions
Responding to client requests and inquiries
Responding to project escalations
Communicate with other employees, clients, and supervisors related to the following:
Errors, program problems, status reports, changes and enhancements
All factors that might delay deadlines or the completion of a project
Attend periodic seminars and training classes to stay abreast of industry products; maintain skill levels and certifications
About You You're a fit for the role of Tax Analyst if you:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting OR Bachelor's degree in a related field with relevant tax experience.
Two or more years of Partnership (1065) tax preparation experience
Extensive knowledge of Partnership tax law - 1065
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of ADO and tracking of work items through multiple teams
Desired Experience:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) OR Enrolled Agent (EA)
ONESOURCE Tax a plus
