Summary:

Tetra Tech's Ann Arbor office consists of a collaborative, talented, and enthusiastic team. We are seeking a motivated entry level Scientist/Geologist to join our high-performing team to continue providing top-of-the-line client services.

Our Ann Arbor office provides a wide variety of environmental services that include subsurface investigations, soil and groundwater remediation design and implementation, remediation system operation and maintenance, hydrogeological studies, wetland and ecological surveys, environmental compliance support, regulated material surveys, waste management, construction and demolition oversight, due diligence support, and long-term monitoring programs.

Your Role: Much of the work will be in the field and may require occasional night and weekend travel/work. Field work / travel will be at a minimum of 50-75% of the time. Performance of field tasks includes but isn't limited to; field investigations, treatment system operation, optimization, and maintenance, soil and groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion sampling (soil gas, subslab, and indoor air), environmental assessments and site inspections, and remediation implementation (both self-performance and oversight of subcontractors). Sampling programs will be under the direction of an experienced Senior Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer. Office tasks may include but aren't limited to: proposal and costing development, work plan development, remediation design, data evaluation, and preparing technical reports. Tasks associated with reporting may include preparation of text, tables, charts, maps, and figures. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: BS in a Scientific discipline (Environmental Science, Geology, etc.). Advanced degrees or professional certifications desirable but not required. 0 5 years of experience in environmental services / consulting. A good understanding of environmental services including investigation and remedial actions, groundwater treatment systems, environmental assessments and sampling is preferred. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts and principles. Ability to take thorough notes and preparation of data reports. Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred. Ability to travel and perform field work (50-75% travel required). Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Familiarity with MS Office Suite. Familiarity with database development and management, and CAD or GIS is desirable. A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
