Charles Schwab Sr. Manager, Software Development & Engineering in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Duties: Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Contribute to building features as modules that are reusable across Schwab mobile ecosystem. Actively participate in the resolution of production issues within agreed upon SLA. Performs advanced development, support and implementation of complex systems using specialized domain knowledge and highly- developed business expertise. Participate in architecture design and be the champion for ensuring that design standards are implemented. Ensure that code has adequate UI/Unit test prior to being merged and assist business with user acceptance testing. Mentor junior engineers on software development best-practices. Work with business partners to solidify requirements before development and assist business with user acceptance testing. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $172,248 to $246,800 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related and 72 months of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. In the alternative, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related and 48 months of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Requires progressive, post-Bachelor’s related experience (6 years with Bachelor’s degree or 4 years with Master’s degree), which include some experience in each of the following skills: Integration with REST API; Parsing of data using JSON and XML; RX Java and Coroutines; Native accessibility features such as TalkBack or Dynamic Type; Dependency injections (DI) and use of DI tools such as Dagger 2; Writing Unit/UI Test using tools such as Espresso and Cucumber; and, Kotlin and Java programming languages.
