Responsibilities*

To evaluate and treat patients ages 0-21, with diseases, injuries, disorders and disabilities, to relieve pain, develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance, using physical modalities and exercise as prescribed by a physician.

Required Qualifications*

Physical Therapist and Graduate Non Certified Patient Care Technician Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in physical therapy is required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric patient evaluation and treatment.

Physical Therapist Additional Required Qualifications

  • Possession of a current state license to practice physical therapy in Michigan.

  • Advanced specialty practice in the evaluation and treatment of all Pelvic floor diagnoses for children, adolescents, and adults.

Desired Qualifications*

  • DPT degree in physical therapy or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One year or more of pelvic floor experience, including pediatric pelvic floor experience, pelvic floor residency, or 9+ week clinical affiliation including pediatric pelvic floor training

  • This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

  • This position may be filled by a recent graduate that is eligible for certification and/or licensure.

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
