Job Summary
The School of Public Health (SPH) Environmental Health Sciences department is hiring an LEO for the Winter 2025 semester for master's degree level instruction in the course titled "Biological Agents" (EHS 576; 2 credit course). The course is an Environmental Health Sciences focused elective (topic specific) course for the EHS graduate program. By course description, the course focuses on "biological agents in the environment that have a substantial impact on human health." In this course, students will become acquainted with biological agents, their characterization and identification, their survival, transmission and persistence in various environments (water, air, food, occupational settings) as well as control strategies. Special topics would include Legionnaire's Disease, the human microbe, and harmful algal blooms.
Date of Appointment: January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025
Subject to final approval by Environmental Health Sciences.
Responsibilities*
This position requires teaching twice a week in person for 1 hour each session (2 hours per week) or one 2-hour session. In addition, office hours 1 hour per week is required. Course syllabus and course material preparation, coordinating guest lectures and course support, assignment development and grading, and guiding students are additional responsibilities.

Research papers and review papers on different topics covered in this course will be provided in advance.
Required Qualifications*
Minimum
- Ph.D. in Environmental Health Science, Applied Biological Sciences, Environmental Microbiology, or other relevant field and application to health.
Preferred
Prior experience in teaching (or strong interest in teaching) senior undergraduate and /or graduate level courses.
Familiar with Canvas Learning Management System
