SRI International's Computer Science Lab (CSL) is seeking a Computer Scientist. CSL builds, assesses, and defends vital computer systems that affect all of our lives. We study the logical foundations of scalable systems beyond the scope of traditional testing or simulation, and we create and apply high-level tools for rigorous mechanical analysis. This is an on site position. The CSL team is primarily at SRI's headquarters located in Menlo Park, CA, candidates in this location will be given preference. However, we will embrace candidates that can work from our regional offices in Arlington, VA; Ann Arbor, MI; Boulder, CO; and Princeton, NJ.
Responsibilities
Join teams that perform scientific research to discover and develop cybersecurity solutions for evolving threats to critical infrastructure, commerce, and U.S. National Security missions. Primary emphasis is on cyber-access methods and vulnerability assessment for cyber-physical systems (CPS). Join teams that create compelling proposals. Primary emphasis is responding to U.S. Government solicitations as a prime contractor or subcontractor, with an emphasis on the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security and the Intelligence Community. 15%-20% travel may be required to support project meetings or test events.
Qualifications
Degree in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering or physics. Active Top Secret security clearance. 3+ years of experience working as part of a research team that develops and delivers innovative technical solutions to address customer requirements. Experience with one or more of these technology domains: Embedded computer system software architectures and applications Software or hardware reverse engineering Software vulnerability assessment Wired and wireless communication protocols Machine learning Hands-on experience with some of the following tools: MATLAB, C, Python/NumPy/SciPy Linux, X86, ARM VMs, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes Ghidra, IDA, QEMU TensorFlow, PyTorch The salary range is: $94,530.00-$125,250.00. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
