Job Summary
The Department of Radiology is currently seeking an administrative specialist to join its Faculty Affairs (FA) Team. The FA Team handles many important processes for the Department of Radiology including all life cycles of our faculty members, such as faculty appointments, credentialing and enrollment, CV review/conversion, promotions, advanced learner appointments, postdoctoral fellows, and much more.

Responsibilities*
50% The successful candidate will participate in several human resource activities related to faculty (all tracks), advanced learners, post-doctoral fellows, visitors/scholars, as well as privileging requirements (including nursing staff) in the Department of Radiology. In this role, you will assist faculty/fellows through the process of recruitment, hiring, initial and renewal hospital credentialing, and new appointments. Additionally, you may be involved in several aspects of the appointment maintenance, promotion process, and termination/retirement process for all ranks and tracks.
You will also work closely with faculty members, division directors, administrators, the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, and the Chair for the Department of Radiology, in addition to the Medical School Leadership and Radiology Faculty Affairs team. We will plan for and accomplish these tasks in accordance with departmental, medical school, and university guidelines.
50% Additionally, the successful candidate will coordinate other faculty appointment processes including professorship renewals, adjunct and emeritus ranks, sabbaticals, licensure/certification maintenance, satellite enrollment, effort certification and distribution, and time away monitoring or other leaves of absence.

Utilize a collaborative approach to your work with the departmental faculty affairs team, faculty members, division chiefs, division administrators, and the medical staff services office.
Self-direct your work and follow up on outstanding issues in a timely manner.
Write letters and other communication on behalf of chair, division chiefs and the administration.
Required Qualifications*
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
You will need knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software. We need someone who has the proven ability to:

Desired Qualifications*
We are hoping to attract someone with considerable experience assisting in the faculty appointments and on-boarding and who also has a reasonable knowledge of university policies, rules and regulations regarding faculty members.
We would also like someone who has experience in the University computer systems and applications (specifically, Meridian, Wolverine Access).
