Job Summary
The University of Michigan Clinical Simulation Center (UMCSC) is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant Sr. The UMCSC is an innovative instructional environment and learning laboratory providing challenging, immersive simulation training for physicians, nurses and other health care professionals at the University of Michigan. As part of the Department of Learning Health Sciences, the UMCSC plays an integral role in leading change through innovative and effective education and establishing assessment methodologies used in clinical care. The mission of the Clinical Simulation Center is to advance best practices in healthcare education and improve patient safety through the development of effective simulation-based instruction, robust assessment, and rigorous research.
This position will serve as Administrative Assistant supporting faculty and staff of the Clinical Simulation Center, and American Heart Association (AHA) educational courses: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Responsibilities*
Provide administrative and technical support to the UMCSC and AHA program including, but not limited to:
50% - Schedule activities in the UMCSC including simulators, equipment and space to accommodate multiple concurrent events and work closely with other UMCSC staff to assure high quality client service.
25% - Provide clerical duties including, but not limited to, answering phones and emails, distributing AHA course material, maintaining the AHA database to include registration and payment history for participants, maintain course availability online as courses are filled, canceled or added, email AHA confirmations and reminders, assist with the preparation of all course materials and post course materials for the registrants, prepare materials for instructors, check in/out registrants, serve as a facilitator for client interactions, assist with ordering and receiving supplies, and participate in special projects, as required.
15% - Assist with the assembly/disassembly of equipment, furniture, simulators, instruments and accessories. Assist with transport of simulators, audio visual and other equipment, instruments and supplies to various locations on the main UMHS campus and off-site locations.
5% - Financial
Process Concur reports, approve Marketsite carts, Process Cash deposits (credit card / checks) generate PO payment <$10k
5% other duties as assigned
Accommodate a flexible shift schedule to support the educational programs hosted by the UMCSC. Assigned shifts are primarily days, but occasional weekend or evening shifts may be required.
Represent the UMCSC and the department to other university personnel and outside contacts.

Required Qualifications*
A highschool diploma or equivalent and four or more years of experience.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
Demonstrated commitment to service excellence.
A service-oriented attitude and the ability to interact and engage with the public.
Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Computer and basic networking knowledge (Win2000, XP, Windows 7, Mac OS, MS Office).
Must have the physical ability to move equipment, furniture and lift over 25 lbs.
Desired Qualifications*
- Some technical background with strong computer-based knowledge, including trouble shooting software and hardware. Experience in a clinical setting.

Background Screening
