Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons, PC is seeking an outgoing individual to join the patient registration team at our Ankeny office to support Urgent Injury Clinic walk in patients. This full-time position is Monday thru Friday (7AM-3:30PM). Responsibilities include checking patients in, verifying patient information and taking co-pays. Prior medical office experience is preferred, but not required.

Do I want this job? You will be working at our Ankeny clinic. You will be the first point of contact for patients arriving for appointments. You will check-in patients, verify patient insurance information and obtain any necessary co-pay required. You will provide outstanding customer service to patients in person and over the phone. Our patients are hurting, so you are understanding that they may not always be super pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful.
Can I do this job? You must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time that may seem unnatural. You must have a high school diploma or GED. If you have previous healthcare experience and want to apply your knowledge to administration, this may be a great fit. If you do not have previous medical office experience, customer service experience is desired. You have great typing and computer skills. You can think on your feet and understand patient information shared in clinic, stays in clinic. You can multi-task while staying organized and collected. You are able to work the hours of this position (7AM-3:30PM, Monday-Friday, with rotating Saturday coverage in Urgent Injury Clinic 7:30AM-12:30PM every 6-8 weeks).
