Air Force District of Washington Fisher House Lodging Manager in Andrews AFB, Maryland

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fisher House. This is a regular full time position with benefits. Responsibilities Responsible for the executive management and administration of the Fisher House operation. Exercises managerial authority to set long-range plans, goals, and objectives that integrate higher headquarters policies with local needs. Oversees scheduling of guest rooms, check-ins, check-outs, and guest orientation upon arrival to the Fisher House. Confirms guest's status is in compliance with Fisher House rules and regulations. Plans, executes and supervises special residents' activities (i.e. special holiday meals, etc.). Interacts with hospital staff to ensure the Fisher House operates at optimal occupancy. Develops, establishes,and implements operational policies such as eligibility, referrals, admission, length of stay, and expenditure. Develops, executes, reviews, and analyzes nonappropriated fund and appropriated fund budgets. Reviews monthly and quarterly fiscal status to adhere to budget controls and makes necessary spending adjustments to accomplish the assigned mission. Provides justification and obtains approval, if necessary, to deviate from the approved budget. Approves Purchase Card and GPC card transactions. Receives gifts anddonations (both cash and in-kind) IAW Air Force regulations. Coordinates with volunteers and groups hosting special events and donations from local clubs and military groups. Coordinates requirements with installation contracting squadron, civil engineering squadron, and MTF facility management as required. Submits AF Form 332 for corrective maintenance requests. Conducts all procurement actions IAW Air Force regulations. Conducts tours with military and civilian leadership. Coordinates all DV requests with installation Public Affairs Office. May be called upon at short notice to provide informational briefs and tours on-site. Conducts guest satisfaction surveys. Actively works with the local 501(c)(3) private organization to support its goals and objectives. Attends meetings and provides reports as requested. Performs daily inspections of vacant rooms and common areas ensuring guest rooms are ready for occupancy at all times. Tracks occupancy rates and costs containment. Develops informational bulletins, brochures, referral forms, resident packets, local manuals and publications, etc. Performs full range of supervisory duties. Makes decisions on training needs and conducts performance reviews. Ensures EEO and affirmative action plans are observed. Updates social media applications on a regular basis. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience/equivalent education which shows a comprehensive knowledge to carry out the objectives of the Fisher House. These include but not limited to: hospitality operations, financial management, facility management and renovation, supervision of staff, volunteer recruitment, guest relations, and marketing. Experience could have been gained in a military or commercial hotel. Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office) and web-based applications required. Ability to work a variable work schedule including weekends, nights, and "on-call" as needed. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
