Job Summary:

The candidate will be joining the Consumer Experience and Operations (CXO) Advanced Visualization & Proposal Services (AVPS) team as a senior content creator and real-time developer on the agile Development Team. The team is responsible for supporting Advanced Visualization value streams across the entire product lifecycle, from capture to sustainment. The candidate will be responsible for creating real-time optimized models from engineering CAD; developing and maintaining interactive applications; and interacting with customers to understand project requirements. Content will be deployed across a wide variety of platforms ranging from large scale visualization screens to VR, AR, web, and mobile devices. The position is Hybrid. The successful candidate will be required to work several days per week from the Immersive Design Center facility in Andover, MA. Position is relocation eligible for applicants who meet our eligibility requirements to receive relocation support.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Create hard-surface mesh models for real-time applications to include working with manifold geometry, topology, UV mapping, texturing, and shading.

  • Work with engineers to understand and convert detailed CAD models.

  • Exercise the entire real-time game development pipeline to design and develop immersive and interactive applications using modern gaming engines.

  • Collaborate with rest of development team to coordinate work activities, report status, and plan project backlogs.

  • Work with product owners to plan advanced visualization projects and estimate work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Role typically requires bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3 years relevant experience. Those with Associates degrees (plus 7 years of relevant experience) or are non-degreed (at least 9 years of relevant experience) will also be considered.

  • Experience in hard-surface mesh modeling for real-time experiences using industry standard tools such as Maya and/or Substance Painter (Preferably both).

  • Experience converting engineering CAD to polygon assets.

  • Experience creating real-time applications with Unity.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree major in Digital Arts, Animation, or Game Development are ideal programs relevant to this role.

  • Enjoys high-paced teams with sometimes multiple demands.

  • Experience with parametric modeling tools such as CREO, SolidWorks, or Rhino.

  • Experience with Unity’s suite of tools such as Unity Version Control, Unity Build Manager, and PiXYZ Studio.

  • Experience with Universal Scene Description (USD).

  • Experience with Agile processes and Jira tools.

  • Applicant may be requested for their portfolio of real-time ready models, during the evaluation process.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
