3rd Shift Distribution Center Supervisor
The supervisor will lead and manage through a staff of coordinators and hourly team members, an inbound or
outbound functional process in the Distribution Center. The supervisor will use their background to achieve goals of highest service levels, accuracy, attainment of production standards, and safety while maintaining a focus on cost containment and P & L accountability. The supervisor will train and develop their team members to be successful at TSC.
Perform research, analysis, design and development of distribution processes to include quality, safety, cost reduction, and operations to support process improvement.
Establishes daily production goals and monitors performance to achieve these goals.
Monitors production standards and develops programs to improve production.
Forecasts workloads and staffing levels based upon historical data and current business initiatives.
Provides feedback to team on attainment of performance measurements (KPI’s, performance, workload status)
Provides various reports to the Operations Manager and General Manager
Participates in root cause analysis to identify problems and recommend changes.
Assist the Operations Manager in problem resolution relating to production, standard operating procedures, safety, and quality. Uses coaching skills to improve individual team member’s performance. Holds team members accountable for safety and housekeeping.
Assist Operations Manager and supervisors in training associates on new processes/procedures.
Participates on distribution project teams acting as a documentarian, co-facilitator, facilitator, or subject matter expert.
May act as a project manager on some projects.
May serve on cross-functional corporate teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes, movement of mobile and fixed equipment, possible exposure to hazardous products, and other conditions associated with a warehouse operation.
Three years of supervisory experience in a multi-shift distribution center.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in logistics and/or industrial engineering preferred.
Mobility. Future relocation required to any TSC distribution center.
Technical skills in logistics processes and methods to include flow, cost efficiencies, engineered standards, equipment, safety, and quality.
Analytical skills to include problem identification and resolution.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Quality orientation and attention to detail.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to train managers, supervisors, and associates.
Working knowledge of personal computers in a Windows environment. Familiarity with M.S. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
