Shift Lead Housekeeper
Location: Anchorage, AK
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt - Hourly
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour with $4.57 HandW benefits
Employment Class: Full Time Regular
Position Summary:
(a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Shift Lead Housekeeper who is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the daily tasks and duties of the housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness and efficiency while maintaining the highest level of consistent quality assurance standards and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning patient rooms, residential rooms, bathrooms, and public areas, including dusting, vacuuming and washing windows
Disinfecting surfaces and equipment, using appropriate cleaning agents, and following infection control protocols
Changing bed linens and making beds in patient rooms
Maintaining an infection-free environment throughout the hospital
Utilizing approved cleaning solutions for proper disinfection
Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, residents, and healthcare staff
Respond to emergencies in relation to cleaning hospital environment
Clean and wipe windows, floors, etc.
Dispose of wastes in wastebaskets as well as clean the wastebaskets
Appropriately dispose of medical waste products like syringes, hand gloves, face mask, sachets of tablets, etc.
Dust furniture as well as equipment
Wipeout blood or other body fluids and then disinfect the area of contact
Use various types of cleaning equipment, like vacuum cleaners, washing machines, etc.
Document the procedure involved in the disposal of hospital waste products, and ensure that the right procedure in line with the standard practice of the hospital, is followed.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Must meet or exceed one or more of the following:
o Certified member of the International Executive Housekeeper's Association (IEHA)
o Current member of the American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services of the American Hospital Association
o Successfully completed a publicly offered housekeeper's course certified by the IEHA, or
o Successful completion of a comparable formal Executive Housekeeper's Course emphasizing hospital disinfection and independently controlled by an in-service management training program
At least one (1) year experience in hospital housekeeping services within the last three (3) years
Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access badges
Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must pass a pre-employment background test
Must be fully vaccinated
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 10 Training Certificate
OSHA 30 Training Certificate
Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Work is typically performed in an indoor environment, in a medical/clinic setting
Typical workweek: however, it may require some long days to meet periodic upturn in business demands or meet deadlines
Physical Demands (including but not limited to):
Duties may include standing for long periods of time with frequent reaching, sitting, walking, twisting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test for this position
