Lathe Machinist

Job Description

A machine shop specializing in custom gears, machined parts, and assembly for the aerospace, defense, medical, commercial oil, power, and automotive industries is seeking a setup machinist in Anaheim, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and check part dimensions with appropriate measuring instruments

  • Accurately use measuring tools

  • Understand necessary company procedures relevant to the position

  • Perform in-process inspection of machined parts

  • Communicate effectively and demonstrate proven problem-solving abilities

  • Collaborate with the Supervisor and Quality Department to ensure parts meet customer specifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience with CNC lathes, particularly Okuma CNC’s (LT300MY, LB3000, the person 370's, L250)

  • Blueprint reading and inspection skills

  • Ability to set up and operate machines with light setup knowledge

  • Experience with aerospace parts and inspection tools/methods with tolerances up to .0005’’

  • Mastercam programming experience or schooling

  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments

  • 2+ years' experience in a precision machining environment (Operator) or a minimum of 5 years (Setup)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • G code knowledge

  • Supervisory experience

  • Proven problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills

Work Environment

You will be working in a machine shop with the following shifts available: 6:00AM - 2:30PM Monday through Friday or 2:00PM - 12:30AM Monday through Thursday (4/10 schedule).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $35.00
