Product Manager

We are looking for a Securities Services Product Manager who will be based in Amsterdam and will be part of the ESES custody team, covering Belgium, France and Netherlands markets, but who is also part of the larger North Europe cluster. The overall objective of the Product Manager is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop in the market, increase market share and obtain a competitive position. The Product Manager will provide the best service to existing clients and look to attract new clients as part of the role.

This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are to:

  • Drive and support new business growth and provide local support for inflow deal opportunities (competitor intelligence, RFIs, RFPs, roadshows, due diligence activities etc.), as well as high standard responses for AFME and Thomas Murray questionnaires.

  • Identify sales opportunities (take-away campaigns/domestic client opportunities) as well as opportunities to increase revenue and/or reduces expenses, as well as manage client implementations and account opening whilst holding financial control and budget for the department.

  • Put client needs at the forefront of what we do to provide the best-in-class service, understanding our clients’ needs and expectations for both intermediaries and Global Custody Investor clients, acting as the escalation point for client related issues.

  • Work with the operations team to eliminate root causes of services issues and customer inquiries, working with regional management on product improvements and ensuring servicing and capacity problems are addressed.

  • Introduce new products or improve product functions and features so that the customer needs are addressed.

  • Represent Securities Services at local governance forums if required, so there is an expectation that risk, and compliance policies are met on a local, regional, and global level with timely and effective escalation coordination to ensure successful audits both internally and externally are achieved.

  • Attend market meetings, with the aim of influencing the alignment of national legislation and the adoption of agreed regional/global market standards to foster harmonisation, through strong leadership in local custodian/intermediary associations and industry groups which includes engaging with local digital and new technology initiatives. Maintain close relationships with the market regulators and FMIs,

What we will need from you:

  • Relevant experience in securities clearing and settlement with extensive knowledge in capital markets, market infrastructures, T2S platform and European capital markets regulation as well as functional experience in marketing and product development.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements. You will need to be comfortable working both in a supervised and unsupervised capacity, adjusting priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication. The role requires good interpersonal and leadership skills to build internal consensus on strategy and execution and to establish the requisite rapport with top client accounts,

  • The ideal candidate should have a proven intellectual grasp of the industry and demonstrate a successful track record in prior positions, ensuring resources are directed appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing across multi-function and/or global business

  • Functional experience in marketing, credit, acquisitions, product development, or analytics

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred
