Expeditors Logistics Operations Project Manager in Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Logistics Operations Project Manager, will work with logistics business leads to define and manage business processes and implement technology roadmaps, manage change and implement new ideas effectively within the Google culture. You will influence decisions and change management through collaboration, leadership and a customer-focused approach. The PM provides functional subject matter expertise and anticipates customer’s needs. You will interface with multiple vendors and partners within and outside of Google to gather and synthesize detailed business requirements, assess current and future business processes. The PM will need to apply analytical skills to rationalize change, lead brainstorming sessions to gather requirements and follow up on committed actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build customer relationship and provide excellent customer service, understanding their needs and goals

  • Identify and address issues that may impact customer satisfaction and work on solutions to improve the overall customer experience   

  • Identify customer pain points, perform gap analysis and recommend value add operational improvements and cost savings projects          

  • Serve as the first point of contact to support customer queries/problems for daily operations              

  • First Point of Contact for the day-to-day operations and ensure everything goes smoothly      

  • Support high volumes of automated transactions in the Amsterdam warehouse operations and work with the suppliers to resolve any inbound/outbound discrepancies and aging orders.

  • Work on longer term process improvements & documentation.            

  • Support stabilizing the operation to upgrade the warehouse management system.

  • Be the onsite point of contact for operational coordination activities of special projects/requests.    

  • Monitor the daily Supplier Operations/Exceptions Reporting and Weekly process management/metrics reporting.           

  • Attend the daily operations stand up meetings and weekly suppliers alignment meetings, answer tactical requests from local teams.      

  • Identify and bring to Google Operations Manager attention any escalations, discrepancies and propose solutions.          

  • Manage specific process such as packaging, scrap, DG            

  • Participate in Audits and follow up on actions and improvements area             

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in project management, including emerging tools, techniques and best practices and proactively apply new knowledge to improve processes

     

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent experience   

  • 5+ years logistics, supply chain,

  • large scale warehouse operations and projects or related experience               

  • Industry certifications such as Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, Supply Chain, PMP  is preferred         

  • Excellent customer service skills, including negotiation, proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results               

  • Risk sensitive, recognizes when problems arise or are likely to arise   

  • Critical thinking using logic, data & qualitative reasoning

  • Strong facilitation skills             

  • Ability to develop, evaluate, recommend and present best options

  • Ability to understand financials and develop budgets 

  • Must be willing to occasionally work outside normal business hours, including weekends      

  • Travel less than 10%

  • English language professional proficiency preferred
