As an ACS Safety, Compliance and Operations Advocate (SCO), you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations, as well as driving operational performance to new heights. Summary of responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Continuously observe safety behaviors at the individual and team level, with a particular focus on aircraft arrival, departure, and the driving and operating of GSE equipment and vehicles

  • Promote a 'just' safety culture and advocate for the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP)

  • Document observations and engagements using selected mobile technology

  • Act as a strong advocate for employee recognition

  • Share all safety information from local, corporate, and customer communications

  • Attend periodic safety meetings with management and employees at the station

  • Provide peer-to-peer coaching and positive engagement/recognition following individual and team observations

Compliance:

  • Have full knowledge of all compliance regulations

  • Spot check operations to validate correct qualification compliance

  • Provide recommendations (e.g. retraining, mentorship) to Operation Service Manager Below Wing and station leadership when significant deviations from standards are observed

  • Ensure safety and quality audits are conducted, reviewed, and closed

  • Conduct safety and quality audits and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment training within the station, as directed

  • Assist in the development of audit plans for the station

  • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of audit findings, comprehensive fixes, and trends

  • Provide input for risk assessments as needed

Operational Performance:

  • Support in managing and coordinating operational performance to ensure a safe, secure, and operation that meets station and divisional goals, by encouraging productive work behaviors

  • Ensure distinctive customer service is delivered by demonstrating a high level of customer focus and sensitivity

  • Act as a communicator of timely and accurate information

  • Build and maintain strong relationships and regular communication with business partners

  • Provide Operation Service Manager Below Wing and station leadership with periodic progress reports, audit schedules, and assessments of safety and quality programs

  • Communicate daily with Operation Service Manager Below Wing to coordinate tasks for the day and share safety findings/concerns

  • Share peer engagement and station performance data with local leaders and front-line agents

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch

  • Documents to work and reside in the Netherlands at the time of application

  • Experience in airport operations

  • Knowledge of Delta Air Lines and KLM Airlines is preferred, along with proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Consistent prioritization of safety and security for yourself and others

  • Embrace a variety of perspectives, ideas, and approaches

  • Cultural awareness and exhibit Delta Air Lines' values

  • Strong customer service skills, with a good working knowledge of Delta policies and procedures being advantageous

  • Schedule flexibility to accommodate varying shifts, extended hours, and "on call" requirements

  • Approachability and interpersonal skills that foster trust and respect.

  • Ability to work with minimal direction, strong decision-making skills, and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrate privacy as a priority when handling personal data

  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment, be a self-starter, and highly motivated
