Eaton Corporation Continuous Improvement Manager in Amarillo, Texas

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager. This role is based at the Amarillo, TX manufacturing site and offers relocation assistance.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

As the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager, you will lead our lean manufacturing journey as we create transformational change in a turnaround assignment, developing solutions for process improvement to optimize material flow, minimize waste, and implement accountability and escalation systems.

The responsibilities include facilitating and leading the continuous improvement process by identifying training needs and leading trainings following the Learn-Do-Teach model in problem solving methodologies, leading Kaizen events, and championing 5S. You will drive the team to understand waste through Value Stream Mapping, create a succinct vision for future state, and facilitate transformation review cadences to clearly communicate and monitor progress across the organization with clear milestone and KPI tracking. This role provides operational site support and works with our corporate CI leader. Day-to-day activities include:

  • Operational Excellence (OpEx) – Drive the strategic vision and roadmaps for facility. Lead the Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment (visual controls, process standardization, leader standard work, Gemba walks, manning strategy, daily accountability, process checks and CI for everyone)

  • Eaton Business System (EBS) – Provide expertise for tools and training including Strategy Deployment, Eaton Operational Assessment (OpA), EBS Assessment, and other tools. Deploy goals and objectives to drive accountability through the tier system to build organizational problem-solving abilities. Lead and facilitate Business Operation System (BOS) meetings and agenda to drive continuous improvement.

  • Site Leadership Team – Drive Cost-Out accountability for the site in alignment with the site’s annual Profit Plan objectives. Provide support & guidance to the Amarillo team with Kaizens, problem solving, and ensuring EBS adherence.

  • Training – Build Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) organizational capability and develop local ELSS/CI Tool Champions by providing training and consulting support. Lead the development and implementation of a plant-wide training plan.

  • Safety – Ensure a safe work environment for all employees, in collaboration with the EHS Manager, Drive and support behavioral based zero incident safety culture.

  • Change Management – Utilize techniques such as ADKAR to effectively drive and sustain process improvements.

What will make you successful?

The ideal candidate has a track record of Project Management experience and driving continuous improvements through sustainable processes. This includes deploying lean techniques and continuous improvement in a manufacturing and distribution environment, including leading Kaizens & use of basic lean tools such as standard work, TPM, VSM, 5S.

This role will engage peers in lean tool application while communicating clearly and persuasively in challenging situations. Utilizing strong interpersonal skills to train and mentor employees, lead cross-function teams and negotiate with various levels of internal and external management are essential as a as a key member of the leadership team. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility in Manufacturing/Operations, Continuous Improvement, and/or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Minimum three (3) years’ hands-on experience applying Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Set Up Reduction, VSM, TPM, Lean Material Flow) in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience managing/leading others in a manufacturing setting.

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience organizing and leading Kaizen events utilizing principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS).

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline

  • MS or MBA degree

  • 2+ years of leadership / supervisory experience

  • Possesses a lean certification or 5+ years of related Lean/Toyota Production System Principles experience
