Role Purpose\ Provides support within the Purchasing Department by handling filing, various reports, and receivers. Maintain and order supplies and any other items as assigned.\ Core Accountabilities\ \ Process blanket reorder notices, normal reorder notices and repair requests for assigned commodities & services.\ \ Act as the buyer for various commodities and services throughout the plant.\ \ Work directly with all departments to provide commodity and service requirements.\ \ Work directly with various vendors negotiating price, terms, delivery, etc.\ \ Process CIS requests into purchase orders using quotes provided by the requestor or by the selected vendor.\ \ Work with accounting and vendors to resolve any invoicing discrepancies.\ \ Work with the Storeroom to resolve delivery issues (i.e. over/under shipments, broken items, wrong items, etc.), establish new part numbers and process repair documentation.\ \ Generate credit card purchases for special items, if applicable.\ \ Send Late Order Notices to vendors who are delinquent and follow up until we receive the order complete.\ \ Assist with tasks as needed.\ \ Generate weekly reports.\ \ Provide support with creating efficient processes.\ Competencies and Qualifications\ \ High School diploma or equivalent degree required\ \ 3-5 years of experience in a procurement/purchasing role preferred\ \ Experience with office equipment, including fax and copier machines\ \ Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred\ \ 10-key machine / calculator experience\ \ Good customer service skills, including questioning and follow through\ \ Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude with an ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages and variances\ \ Ability to pay close attention to detail\ \ Effective verbal and written communications skills. Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and work within a team structure to support company objectives and maintain/build positive working relationships\ \ Ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision\ \ Organized and efficient\ \ Ability to file materials and documents appropriately (hard and electronic copies)\ \ Basic knowledge of legal aspects of purchasing, commercial terms and conditions as well as basic
