The role you’ll contribute:

This position is responsible for supporting and implementing Human Resources policy development, revisions, and implementation of policy changes for AdventHealth. This includes researching and writing policies for review, analysis of impact of policies, and partnering with AH resources for communication and implementation of policies. This role understands and articulates key policy issues and their relationship to the operations of the business. In addition, this position provides administrative and technical support for the human resources Center of Expertise department displaying professionalism, strong initiative, willingness, and ability to solve challenges.

Policy Support

  • Proactively monitor new local, state, and federal legislation, monitor updates to existing laws, and provide research support as changes occur.

  • Demonstrate ability to articulate (verbal and written) complicated policy and operational issues to internal and external audiences.

  • Perform research on policy issues as assigned, including operational, technology, financial and people impacts. Review existing facility / regional HR policies and Standard Operating Procedures in relationship to any company-wide policy changes or additions proposed. Collaborates with local and facility Stakeholders and collects information to support regulatory requirements.

  • Partners with appropriate HR Center of Expertise teams in drafting or revising HR policies – including Stakeholders in long-term partnerships for policy involvement.

  • Prepares effective presentations to concisely articulate policies and SOPs.

  • Partners with AdventHealth Internal Communications in developing and deploying Communication Plans for all policy changes or new policies, which may include internal HR Communication, Leadership Communication, Employee broad-based communication, individual employee communication, HRSS Contact Center scripts and other communication modules, as necessary.

  • Partners with the legal team and HRSS in development and deploying policy support documents such as releases, agreements, schedules in support of policies.

  • Regularly communicates progress and concerns affecting policy to leader through verbal and written reports.

  • Manages special projects as assigned and performs issue-specific research or reference material.

  • Assist in the production of the Workforce Guidelines, presentations related to policies and guidelines, and other communication tools. This may include research, writing and coordination of publication.

  • Develop and/or contribute to projects, such as whitepapers, research documents, summary presentations and reports as assigned.

  • Keeps accurate records of policies and procedures, electronic storage, and archived documentation.

  • Employs critical thinking and creative problem solving to address barriers and escalates issues to leadership when appropriate.

  • Designs, develops, and maintains reports, scorecards, and dashboards that effectively tell the story of the policy and highlight the confluence of other policies in a manner that can be easily understood and acted upon – policy alignment with taxonomy and mutual reference.

  • Monitors dashboards and reports to provide recommendations on best practices to improve reporting.

Department Planning, Activities and System Support

  • As requested, supports other team members on projects.

  • Consistently demonstrates initiative as well as problem-solving and cross function communication skills.

  • Lead out on department initiatives as requested. This includes engaging and communicating with team members, or committee membership.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum experience: two to four years of experience in an HR Generalist or related role, working with Human Resources

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Three – five years’ experience in an HR Generalist or related role, working with Human Resources policies.

  • Master’s degree in business administration or other healthcare related field
