Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
About the Senior Internal Auditor - Technology Position
As the Senior Internal Auditor - Technology, you are responsible for conducting distinct, business and industry specific audits of Technology (IT & OT) and Security while employing data extraction & analytics for the Internal Audit team. This position will independently lead and execute the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of audit and advisory engagements. The Senior Internal Auditor - Technology will work collaboratively with other Internal Audit Team members to assist and complete the annual, risk-based audit plan and provide additional assurance services, advice, and recommendations as requested. The Senior Auditor - Technology will monitor management action plans with subject matter experts and senior leaders through to appropriate resolution and completion. Overall, this role will have the opportunity to assess various enterprise, compliance, and technology risks, identify gaps in processes and internal controls, and make recommendations to improve Colonial’s operations and adherence to regulatory and company expectations.
What You Get to Do:
Independently performs Technology (IT & OT) and Security audits and advisory engagements, including plan preparation, workpapers, findings, and associated reports.
Verify the accuracy of programs, processes, and records while supporting other Internal Audit Team members in the execution of their engagements on the audit plan.
Provide data extraction, analyses, and reports while supporting the other Internal Audit Team members in their engagements.
Consult with technology and/or business stakeholders to evaluate processes and/or internal controls and recommend redesign/re-engineer as appropriate.
Identify opportunities for increasing operational efficiencies and strengthening processes and internal controls.
Participate or lead special projects including investigations and those requiring management of teams outside of the Internal Audit Department.
Serve as an advisor on ways to improve internal audit, continuous auditing, and monitoring techniques.
Work with Risk, Enterprise Compliance, Security, and other second lines of defense to ensure Colonial is following applicable regulations and monitoring completion of remediation activities.
Make presentations to internal clients, including senior management; and serves as a resource on current and expected internal controls, risks, fraud, and compliance topics.
Assists in a variety of areas including risk assessments, production of the quarterly Internal Audit Status Report and other materials for the Leadership Team and the Board Audit & Compliance Committee.
What You Bring to the Table:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology,Security Management, Business, or other related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
Ideally,5+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Technology, Cyber Security, and/or Consultingwith working knowledge of OT systems
Demonstrates proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
One of the following active certifications –CISA or other Technology related certification; or working towards these certifications, but not yet completed, will also be considered.
Experience and advanced knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures.
Good business acumen; sensitivity to following regulations and passion for process improvement.
