Job Summary & General Information

Hours per week: Work 18 – 45 hours per week

The City of Alpharetta Recreation, Parks and Cultural Services Department is seeking cashiers and/or Deck-Slide Attendants pool staff for collecting admission fees at the swimming pool facility and/or work as slide monitor.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Pool Manager or Recreation Supervisor II, will be responsible for handling all transactions at the gate, interacting with the public and work as a slide monitor.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities

The Cashier and/or Deck Slide Attendant will be responsible for:

  • Collect and calculate admission fees.

  • Prepare daily deposit report and ensure accurate accounting of daily attendance sheet.

  • Process and validate summer pool passes, process registration for recreation programs.

  • Maintain proper money handling policies and procedures.

  • Provide courteous and expeditious customer service as well as presenting a favorable public image at all times to the patrons and city department staffs.

  • Respond to a variety of questions and inquiries from the public including explaining fees, hours of operation, and services provided.

  • Operate computer terminal.

  • Provide alert, preventative skills while supervising swimming activities in and around the aquatic center slides to ensure that policies, rules, and regulations are observed and enforced and that no hazard to safety is created.

  • Assist lifeguard staff in routine maintenance tasks

  • Work at top of slide as slide monitor

  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age by start date.

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in performing the duties of a cashier is desirable.

  • Must be able to pass or be in possession of certifications in First Aid training that includes, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for Infant, Child, and Adult. This training must be from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association or attend paid training with the City of Alpharetta.

  • Must be willing to work weekends, evening hours and holidays throughout the entire season.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Applicant must clear a criminal background check.

  • Applicant must pass a mandatory drug screen test.

  • Hired applicants must provide official verification as to identity and work authorization.
