Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Alpharetta, Georgia

Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team located in Alpharetta, Georgia. This role revolves around managing vendor accounts, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records, among other responsibilities. The employment opportunity offered is a contract to hire, providing an opportunity for long-term engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and promptly review, verify, and enter invoices into the accounting system

• Prepare and process payments through various methods including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments

• Manage vendor accounts, which includes setting up new vendors, updating vendor information, and responding to vendor inquiries in a timely manner

• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies, communicating with vendors to resolve any billing issues or payment discrepancies

• Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies

• Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all expenses are accurately accounted for

• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards

• Identify and suggest improvements to the accounts payable process for greater efficiency and accuracy

• Utilize various accounting software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning tools to perform accounting functions

• Perform account coding and accrual accounting tasks as necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role

• Proficient in account coding procedures and practices

• Familiarity with accounting software systems

• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

• Understanding of accounting functions and principles

• Extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with accrual accounting

• Experience with auditing processes and procedures

• Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions

• Proficiency in using NetSuite software for accounting purposes

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive financial information.
