DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As an entry level Analytical Chemist , you will join PPG's Global Analytical Network as a member of the Insights Team at PPG's Monroeville Business and Technology Center, Monroeville, PA. Responsibilities will include the utilization of liquid chromatography techniques and related instrumentation to help drive new product development, and perform testing for customer and manufacturing issues, as well as support regulatory requests. You will prepare samples, acquire data, write reports that include analysis of the data, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Do you have curiosity about how things work? Key Responsibilities * Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety protocols. * Operate capillary electrophoresis (CE), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Ultrahigh Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) and related instrumentation. * Prepare samples, acquire data, clearly document, and communicate results. * Ability to collaboratively handle changing priorities, based on issue criticality. * Assist in method development for novel chemicals by LC. * Proficiency to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. * Continuously learn and become proficient in CE, LC, and other analytical capabilities. * Apply Chemistry and Analytical knowledge to accelerate innovation and product development.
Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related with 0-2 years of related working experience. * Previous experience with HPLC and UHPLC Method Development is preferred. * Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential in helping interact with different levels of the business as well as with external customers. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-functional team in a complex, agile, fast paced environment. * Travel - less than 10%.
