St. Luke's University Health Network Manager, SLPG Float Team in Allentown, Pennsylvania

The Manager of the SLPG Float Team leads and manages the daily operations of the SLPG Float Team and is responsible for inter-practice communication, decision making, and allocation of SLPG Float Team resources to Primary Care and Specialty practices.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all leadership and managerial functions across the employee life cycle for direct reports including hiring, onboarding/orientation, performance management (in collaboration with Sr./Practice Operations Managers), ongoing coaching, development, engagement, recognition, etc.

  • Develops and maintains processes and policies pertaining to the management, distribution, and oversight of SLPG Float Team resources.

  • Manages daily operations in a systematic manner to assure operational effectiveness, timely allocation of resources, and quality service.

  • Ensures operational readiness for the department (e.g., developing employee schedules, facilitating daily huddles, updating time management systems, maintaining Point of Care licensing, etc.).

  • Understands the relationship between staffing needs, the allocation of resources and labor productivity, and incorporates into decision making.

  • Develops, evaluates, and adjusts current and future staffing based upon needs and initiates adjustments as needed.

  • Cultivates internal and external sourcing channels for existing underutilized practice resources and external recruits, respectively.

  • Institutes process to acquire total performance feedback (spanning competency, skills, and behaviors) to enable Float Team coaching and performance management.

  • Collaborates with Primary Care and Specialty departments regarding staffing needs/plans, staff/Practice onboarding/offboard, and Float Pool team member performance.

  • Analyzes and delivers periodic reporting regarding Float Team utilization and internal customer satisfaction.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to six hours per day, for two hours at a time. Occasionally lift, carry or push objects up to 75 pounds.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in health care, business administration, or supply chain management required.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Three or more years of relevant experience required and one or more year in a health care organization preferred. Experience in logistics and/or resource management preferred. Experience managing others preferred.
