NETSCOUT SYSTEMS INC Senior Software Development Engineer in ALLEN, Texas
Duties: Responsible for platform development of NetScouts proprietary Infinistream product line. Perform hands-on feature development within a modern software environment, and collaborate with a team of engineers focused on this product line. Perform Linux and C programming and L2/L3 networking for network design. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical application issues and errors. Work with Linux systems, system administration, and git. Collect and analyze information received from customer interfaces and interpret technical needs. Participate in the performance optimization with infinistream products. Work within the embedded development life cycle, as well as Software Define Networking (SDN) for virtualization environments on Cloud platforms along with infinistream product line integration and deployment.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in Linux programming in the C language with emphasis on knowledge of system calls, threading, and interaction with device drivers or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience in Linux programming in the C language with emphasis on knowledge of system calls, threading, and interaction with device drivers. Demonstrated Expertise (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise (DE) troubleshooting and programming L2/L3 networking for network design; DE developing software based on Software Define Networking (SDN) technologies interacting with virtualization and cloud environments; DE developing, configuring, and working with the Linux system and Linux system administration; and DE designing and developing software within VM environments.
This is a remote position and can be performed anywhere in the U.S.
