Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a subsidiary of Parsons, has an immediate full-time opening for a Systems Engineer onsite at our office in Alexandria, VA, to support programs at our customer site.The Systems Engineer willjoin a team which specifies, designs, delivers, and operates National Security Space (NSS) missions. An integrated government/contractor team conducts program planning; ground system project development and management; software, hardware, RF, and IT DevOps; supporting, integrating, and interfacing with satellite ground specialty equipment; maintaining a government security baseline; and operating space missions for a variety of internal and external mission partners. As a systems engineer, you will work with this team in architecture and design, implementation, systems engineering process, integration and test, and delivery of system capabilities into operations. A successful applicant will have a track record of managing and delivering integrated software and hardware systems in an enterprise space operations environment. Some knowledge of cyber security and best practices desired.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Systems engineering and program management activities including requirements management, schedule development and maintenance, integrated product team leadership, status reporting, and cross-discipline technical integration management.
• Establish and lead rigorous systems engineering processes across a composite team of government and contractor personnel. Develop, deliver, trace, test, and maintain system and subsystem requirements specifications and work with individual teams to ensure delivery of integrated capabilities specified.

• Work with offsite product teams delivering system components to delegate requirements, specify new features, maintain product currency, enable training, and interact with product support to integrate commercial and GOTS components.
• Decomposition of software requirements to lower-level software specifications and components, including message-oriented-middleware; ground C2, mission planning, and orbital analysis software; IT systems
• Prioritizing and tracking requirements through to test and implementation in a multi-mission, multi-baseline environment

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a minimum active DoD Secret security clearance
• Must be a US citizen
• BS in relevant field (Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineer, Information Technology) and/or relevant experience.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience working as a Systems Engineer
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, to supported staff, management, and government customers.
• Experience leading and integrating traditional and agile systems engineering processes, including requirements solicitation, integration and test, cybersecurity and information assurance, software and hardware engineering, product delivery lifecycle, and operations support

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Current TS/SCI or Secret clearance, with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Experience with integrating Satellite Command and Control (C2) engineering and components, including transport, commanding, archival, terrestrial comms
• Deep familiarity in one or more relevant Satellite Ground System technical areas: Software Engineering, RF Engineering, Space/Ground Operations
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Experience serving in security management in a classified IT development program
• Development and implementation of systems engineering products required for formal
