Applied Research Associates, Inc. Senior Critical Materials Engineer in Alexandria, Virginia
Description
The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking an energetic Senior Critical Materials Engineer to research and analyze strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities within the global defense industrial base, recommend relevant prototyping efforts, craft relevant acquisition documents, evaluate proposed efforts, monitor program execution, conduct outreach efforts, and conduct site visits. The employee will support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP) in Alexandrea, VA, and/or remotely. This position is contingent upon customer resume approval, a phone screening, position funding, and security clearance verification.
Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program in the following areas:
Critical and strategic materials/minerals
Batteries and power storage
Digital transformation
Emerging technologies
Castings and forgings
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
DoD SECRET security clearance
5-7 years of experience
Willingness to apply for, obtain, and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance
Demonstrated knowledge of the DoD acquisition process and planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE)
Strong oral and written communications capabilities
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree
DoD TOP SECRET security clearance
7+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge of systems engineering concepts and methods
