Job Summary:

The General Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing or repairing minor mechanical components, replacing or repairing minor electrical components, and replacing or repairing minor plumbing components.

Primary Duties

  • Perform periodic inspections of all systems and equipment. Monitor equipment operations and maintain equipment operating logs.

  • Proficient use of test equipment and devices pertinent to building operating systems and analyze test results.

  • Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences.

  • Respond to emergency situations and perform all task necessary for the protection of occupants and property.

  • Perform data center or mission critical environment maintenance activities.

    Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • High School diploma or GED coupled with three (3) or more years of experience in maintenance of facilities to include electrical systems, controls, generators, lighting and controls. (required)

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Must be willing to carry a shop radio and cell phone when on duty to enable prompt emergency response.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.

  • Must be a team player committed to work in a quality environment.

  • Must conform to all city, state, and federal licensing and certification requirements.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to and from the job site.

  • Must be able to work as needed including various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

  • Have a familiarity of Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), Maximo preferred or similar.

  • Requires excellent verbal, written, multitasking and presentation skills in English. Also, the ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.

  • This position is considered sensitive and may require extensive background screening processes in order to meet current or future Network and/or government contract needs.
