This position will work towards maximizing safety, quality, performance, and machine utilization while in alignment with servant leadership principles. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company's vision and strategies Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines Continuously build relationships throughout the department and company in order to best serve and support co-workers and employees Ensure the department has the tools and resources to keep other departments informed of any delays or changes in scheduled arrival times of products required by the department Work with the manager to manage the department's labor and expense budget and ensure expenses are within the budget Provide leadership to department team members: Communicate priorities and project assignments Develop and implement adequate cross-training Provide continuing education, training and development opportunities Provide coaching to employees to support their growth within their position and the company Ensure expectations and responsibilities are known and followed Monitor employee performance and assist with employee performance reviews Delegate special projects Participate in the interviewing and selection process for department openings as needed Identify and implement methods for reducing costs and expenses in the department Oversee continuous improvement initiatives Ensure all quality practices are being followed accurately and efficiently Partner with the manager to manage work schedules Review and submit employee time sheets bi-weekly and PTO request as needed Respond to emergency situations during and after standard hours to resolve issues that may arise Maintain and monitor employee schedules, workload and department capacity Effectively communicate and inform information to team members through huddle meetings, department meetings, and one-on-one conversation Meet delivery schedules to ensure strong customer service and high customer satisfaction Manage department labor budgets consistently in relation to monthly sales budgets Other Job Duties (Not considered essential to job) Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner Minimum Qualifications 1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent degree Associates degree in Business Management or related program preferred 2. Experience: 3+ years of die shop experience required 3+ years of leadership experience required 3. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to recognize safety concerns Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to provide strong servant leadership to support team members Ability to take part in continuous education and training Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in every
